Programme Overview
Imperial College London's Renewable Energy with AI and Data Science MSc develops specialist expertise at the intersection of renewable energy, geoscience and computation.
Students learn how geological, geotechnical and geophysical information can be used to characterise sites for renewable-energy developments.
The programme develops practical skills in data science, numerical methods, artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to renewable-energy challenges.
Students gain hands-on experience with geophysical surveying equipment and real-world datasets.
An independent project allows students to investigate an advanced renewable-energy problem and may include an industry placement with organisations involved in the energy transition.
Entry Requirements
Applicants normally require at least a UK 2:1 honours degree or equivalent international qualification in a geological science, physical science or engineering subject.
Applicants must demonstrate a good quantitative background.
Imperial expects evidence equivalent to at least grade A in A-level Mathematics or suitable mathematics study within the undergraduate degree.
Coding experience is also required.
Applicants with relevant professional or industrial experience may be considered individually in exceptional circumstances.

Equivalent Imperial-approved English-language qualifications may also be accepted.
