Job Description

The Materials, Process and Physics Engineer develops and supports nondestructive-evaluation techniques for aerospace materials and structures. Work covers ultrasonic, radiographic, eddy-current, magnetic-particle and penetrant inspection as well as emerging technologies such as computed tomography, robotics and phased-array ultrasonics.

Responsibilities

• Develop nondestructive-evaluation processes and techniques.
• Support ultrasonic inspection of composite structures.
• Evaluate radiographic, eddy-current, penetrant and magnetic-particle methods.
• Design and fabricate inspection reference standards.
• Investigate inspection and material-performance problems.
• Support qualification of inspection equipment and processes.
• Prepare specifications, procedures and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineering laboratories and production teams.

Eligibility

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science or computer science.
• At least one year of experience working in nondestructive evaluation.
• Relevant experience appropriate to the position level.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
