Job Description

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is recruiting a composites engineer for the 787 Wing and Empennage Engineering Support Team. The engineer will develop and qualify composite materials, parts, processes and manufacturing technologies while supporting production, suppliers, testing, audits and corrective-action investigations.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering designs, drawings and specifications.
• Qualify composite materials, parts and manufacturing processes.
• Support Boeing production teams and external suppliers.
• Investigate material, tooling, part and process failures.
• Develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage qualification testing and supplier audits.
• Apply safety, quality and lean-manufacturing principles.
• Meet technical, cost and schedule requirements.

Eligibility

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science or a related discipline.
• At least five years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• At least two years interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• At least two years working with composites or composite manufacturing.
• Must meet U.S. Person export-control requirements.
• Must be able to work on-site and travel approximately 20%–25%.
