Job Description

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an avionics and electrical engineer for the C-17 Globemaster III sustainment and support programme at RAAF Base Amberley. The engineer will work with the Australian Defence Force to sustain and enhance the aircraft’s operational capability.

The position integrates new avionics and software modifications, develops verification and certification programmes and assesses new aircraft role equipment. It also supports aviation-safety and hazard-management activities associated with software, electrical and avionics systems.

Responsibilities

• Support sustainment and enhancement of the C-17 aircraft capability.
• Integrate software and avionics modifications into C-17 aircraft.
• Develop avionics and software verification programmes.
• Support certification of aircraft-system modifications.
• Assess compatibility of new aircraft role equipment.
• Conduct hazard assessments for avionics, software and electrical systems.
• Collaborate with Australian Defence Force and programme stakeholders.

Eligibility

• Bachelor of Engineering in avionics, software, electrical, electronics or mechatronics is required.
• At least two years of avionics-engineering experience is required.
• Experience working in an aviation environment is required.
• Strong teamwork and stakeholder-engagement ability is required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
