Programme Overview
The University of Oxford MSc in Environmental Change and Policy develops the scientific, analytical and policy skills needed to respond to major global environmental challenges.
Students examine the causes and consequences of environmental change together with practical and policy responses.
The curriculum integrates environmental science, economics, governance, ethics, social systems and evidence-based policy analysis.
Students study environmental change, systems thinking, policy transformation, research methods and policy-analysis techniques.
Field-based learning and an independent dissertation provide opportunities to apply these skills to real environmental and sustainability problems.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally hold or be predicted to achieve a first-class or strong upper second-class honours degree or an equivalent international qualification.

Applicants from the United States normally require at least a 3.6 out of 4.0 GPA to meet the published undergraduate-level requirement.
Relevant environmental experience or a strong demonstrated interest in environmental issues is expected.

Scholarship Information
Oxford expects to offer more than 1,100 full or partial graduate scholarships across its graduate programmes for 2026–27. Applicants who apply by the relevant January funding deadline and receive an offer are automatically considered for many Oxford scholarships.
