Programme Overview
The University of Oxford MSc in Advanced Computer Science combines advanced computer science theory with practical computing techniques.
Students engage with mathematical foundations, algorithms and computation together with advanced application areas including machine learning, computer security, formal verification and quantum information.
The programme develops rigorous approaches to software, algorithms, computational models and the design and implementation of computing technologies.

Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally hold or be predicted to achieve a first-class undergraduate degree with honours in Computer Science or Mathematics, or an equivalent international qualification.
Applicants must have sufficient mathematical preparation and basic computer-programming skills.
Programming-project experience through study, employment or independent work is expected.
For applicants with a US Bachelor's degree, Oxford normally requires a minimum GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0.
GRE and GMAT scores are not required.

Scholarship Information
Oxford expects to offer more than 1,100 full or partial graduate scholarships across its graduate courses for 2026–27. Applicants submitting by the programme's relevant January funding deadline are automatically considered for many Oxford scholarships. Most awards are based on academic merit and academic potential. Additional college-specific, nationality-specific and external scholarships may also be available.
