Programme Overview
ETH Zurich's Master in Energy Science and Technology provides interdisciplinary education in sustainable energy production, conversion, distribution and use.
Students develop technical knowledge while also examining environmental, economic, societal and regulatory dimensions of energy systems.
Core areas include electrical power engineering, energy flows and processes, and energy economics and policy.
Students complete compulsory and elective coursework, an interdisciplinary energy case study, a semester project, an industry internship and a Master's thesis.
The programme allows students to construct an individual study profile with guidance from an ETH academic tutor.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should normally hold a recognised Bachelor's degree in engineering or the natural sciences.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate strong academic performance and sufficient quantitative preparation.

Scholarship Information
Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) ETH Zurich's ESOP provides outstanding Master's students with CHF 12,000 per semester for living and study expenses together with a tuition-fee waiver. The scholarship is awarded for the regular duration of the Master's programme. Applicants should normally demonstrate academic performance within approximately the top 10% of their Bachelor's cohort. For Autumn 2027 entry, applications are accepted from 1 November to 30 November 2026. ETH also offers need-based financial assistance for eligible students.
