Programme Overview
Imperial College London's Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc provides advanced study across a broad range of mechanical engineering disciplines. The programme develops knowledge of both established and emerging areas of the field, including aerotechnologies, engine performance, advanced engineering analysis, robotics, clean energy and related technologies. Students also complete an individual project that allows them to investigate a specialist mechanical engineering topic in depth. The programme is designed to develop technical knowledge and transferable skills suitable for advanced engineering roles, research and further academic study.
Entry Requirements
Applicants are normally expected to hold at least a strong UK 2:1 honours degree or an equivalent international qualification in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Applicants should have a suitable mathematical and engineering foundation for advanced postgraduate study. Imperial assesses international qualifications against its published country-specific equivalencies.
English-Language Requirements
Applicants whose previous education does not meet Imperial's English-language exemption criteria must satisfy the University's approved English-language requirement for postgraduate study.
IELTS Academic: normally 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each component.
Equivalent approved tests such as TOEFL iBT and Pearson PTE Academic may also be accepted according to Imperial College London's current English-language requirements.
