Job Description
The technician supports daily turbine operation, preventive and corrective maintenance, safety, quality control and warranty repair activities across the Illinois Hub 3 wind sites.
Responsibilities
• Maintain electrical and mechanical wind-turbine equipment.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning turbine components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Conduct diagnostic electrical analysis.
• Document completed work through computerized service systems.
• Coordinate with site leadership and the remote operations centre.
Eligibility
• High-school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of wind-technician experience, a wind certificate or relevant energy qualification, or two years of electrical work experience.
• Ability to pass GE Vernova’s technical knowledge assessment.
• Valid driving licence and basic computer skills.
• Ability to climb towers and repeatedly handle approximately 50 pounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
