Job Description

This role leads thermal design and validation for Rivian’s electronic-control units. The engineer connects silicon-level performance with vehicle integration, helping ensure reliable and energy-efficient electrical hardware under demanding real-world environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermal strategies for electronic-control units.
• Create and interpret thermal models and simulations.
• Define environmental and component-level design requirements.
• Plan thermal tests and correlate results with analysis.
• Investigate thermal failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software and vehicle-integration teams.

Eligibility

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering or a related discipline.
• Advanced thermal-analysis and electronics-cooling experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD and engineering simulation tools.
• Knowledge of environmental testing and failure analysis.
• Strong technical leadership and communication ability.
