Job Description
The Senior CAE Engineer will guide drive-unit development using finite-element analysis and engineering simulation. The position evaluates complete components and assemblies for static strength, fatigue, vibration, sealing and structural performance. The engineer will develop improved analytical procedures, correlate models with tests and provide design recommendations supporting prototype and production drive units.
Responsibilities
• Validate components and system-level drive-unit assemblies using FEA.
• Perform linear and nonlinear static analysis, modal analysis and frequency-response studies.
• Conduct fatigue analysis using assembly preload and operating-duty-cycle loads.
• Perform topology optimisation for structural-strength and NVH objectives.
• Analyse hyperelastic sealing systems and complete-system seal performance.
• Define realistic loads, contacts and boundary conditions.
• Correlate analytical models with physical test results.
• Present analysis scorecards and design recommendations during engineering reviews.
• Investigate prototype and production-launch failures using data and first principles.
Eligibility
• Master’s degree or higher in Engineering.
• Seven to ten or more years of finite-element-analysis experience.
• Advanced understanding of solid mechanics, numerical methods, materials, statics, dynamics, fatigue, vibration and sealing.
• Experience collaborating with design, manufacturing, NVH, test and materials teams.
