Job Description

The engineer owns technical decisions concerning automotive steels, aluminium alloys, joining methods, corrosion protection and supplier material quality.

Responsibilities

Select metals for vehicle structures and components.

Develop internal material specifications and design requirements.

Assess metals, joining methods, coatings and corrosion protection.

Support supplier qualification and production readiness.

Investigate material failures and manufacturing concerns.

Coordinate decisions across design, quality and supply-chain teams.

Eligibility

Degree in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering or a related field.

Automotive metals and manufacturing experience.

Knowledge of steels, aluminium alloys and joining technologies.

Experience with material testing and failure analysis.

Ability to work independently across multiple programmes.
