Job Description
The engineer supports product-development and colour, materials and finishes teams with material selection, development and validation. The role advances more sustainable vehicle materials while improving durability, cleanability, production quality and environmental performance.
Responsibilities
• Lead material prototyping and development.
• Complete engineering approval of programme materials.
• Author Rivian material standards and test specifications.
• Advance sustainability, durability and cleanability initiatives.
• Investigate production material failures and determine root causes.
• Work with suppliers, purchasing and supplier-quality teams.
Eligibility
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Knowledge of plastics, films, fabrics, composites or decorative materials.
• Experience in material development, validation and testing.
• Ability to conduct root-cause analysis.
• Strong cross-functional and supplier-collaboration skills.
