Job Description
The Lead Power Electronics Engineer develops medium-voltage variable-speed drive systems and advanced power-conversion and motor-control solutions. The role covers system architecture, power-electronics design, control algorithms, simulation, validation, commissioning and customer deployment.
These technologies improve the efficiency, controllability and performance of energy-intensive equipment and support broader electrification and sustainability objectives.
Responsibilities
• Design and optimize medium-voltage power-conversion systems.
• Engineer transformers, active front ends, diode front ends, motor bridges and harmonic filters.
• Develop vector-control and Field-Oriented Control algorithms.
• Define integrated control strategies that balance performance, reliability and operating constraints.
• Create offline simulation models and real-time digital twins.
• Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and system validation.
• Lead integration and performance testing on physical systems.
• Collaborate with power-electronics, software and systems-engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership during commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Support product architecture and technology-roadmap decisions.
Eligibility
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Drives or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience with variable-speed drives, power conversion, motor controls or industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of medium-voltage power electronics, rectifiers, inverters and motor-drive systems.
• Understanding of electric machines, transformers and three-phase power systems.
• Experience developing Field-Oriented Control or vector-control algorithms.
• Experience creating simulation models for power-electronics systems.
• Ability to analyze interactions between converters, machines, transformers and utility networks.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
