Job Description
The Powerplant Engineer develops and implements aircraft modifications, repairs and technical solutions. The role evaluates components, regulatory requirements and operational data to improve airworthiness, reliability and cost performance.
Responsibilities
• Develop diagnostics and monitoring strategies for aircraft reliability.
• Review service bulletins, technical letters and OEM documentation.
• Prepare engineering authorizations and compliance documentation.
• Analyze component failures and recommend corrective action.
• Design and test solutions for aircraft systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and regulatory substantiation.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and operational support.
Eligibility
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or another technical discipline.
• At least three years of aviation-sector experience, subject to JetBlue’s stated experience substitutions.
• Knowledge of aircraft structures, avionics, systems or powerplants.
• Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
• Proficiency using Python, Excel or SQL for analysis.
• Ability to obtain and retain a SIDA badge.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
